A wind tunnel test can be used to study local wind actions on special geometries and determine design values of local wind actions including wind pressure distribution on the structure as well as dynamic behavior of the structure. A structure for example being a steel stack.
Steelcon has in co-operation with a wind laboratory just determined wind pressure distribution, dynamic wind action coefficient and determination of equivalent static loads for an 85 m chimney with “grid-type” curtain at the top for Klagenfurt, Austria.
